Have you ever dusted off an old antique or dresser that was sitting in you basement for years? I’m sure most people have and the question is posed. How do I renew the finish to make it look great again.
If the overall finish is in good shape and it’s simply dusty or has a few scratches and dried out here’s how.
First you’ll want to clean the piece. Get a bucket of warm water and a little dish soap. Wipe the piece down with a wetted cotton rag and immediately dry it off.
Once the piece is clean, let it sit overnight or at least for a few hours and then do your repairs.
Use your Exact Match Wood Touch Up system and dress up your piece. Once finished you on to the next step. Feeding and protecting the wood.
We do not recommend aerosols or anything with silicone in it. Use a natural product such as Exact Match Luster Restore or something similar with natural waxes and oils.
Put a heavy coating on the piece and let it sit overnight. The following day wipe off the excess and be amazed at how great your old dusty relic looks.
